Introduction

We, at Nature Shop Australia, have started a blog so that we can get your views on our service and ingredients. These comments will help us improve and we hope to reciprocate, whenever possible.

Nature Shop is and will always be first and foremost an ethical business that you can trust.

Nature Shop's business is in the trade of Natural Botanical Ingredients. We focus on the hard to obtain ingredients as we believe, it will offer our clients a better value proposition in the market by using these ingredients. Most of the ingredients we supply can be interchangeably used in both the food and cosmetic industry, for example our natural colours. We will in time gradually move to organic ingredients as we can source them more economically. Our major suppliers are located in 3rd world countries and in most of these places, organic certification is a very expensive proposition, which is one reason why we are not always successful in getting the organic variants of some of our ingredients. In time and as we grow, we hope to become fully organic.

To all our clients, I would like to extend a warm welcome as you browse our Web site. Appreciate your comments.

Many thanks

Shoba Mathew

Well, I thought I'd better leave a comment since no one else has!
    I've just placed an order.
You certainly have a comprehensive range of products, though I found the site difficult to navigate.
I found you via a google search looking for papaya extract to use in my face creams. Lucky I kept going through the search pages as you didn't come up until number 61 - 70!
Looking forward to receiving my package.

Getting listed in the major search tools is not an easy and eventually boils down to how you want your site to be found. We are listed on the pages 1 - 3 in google for some categories like fractionated coconut oil, Nature Shop, baobab oil and so on. That being said it would be great to get listed for all the categories but it will not happen and eventually in my opinion is not sustainable. We shall keep trying though !!

If you get back to this blog or can send me an email (info@natureshop.com.au), I would like to learn from your experiences on why the site was difficult to navigate.

    Thank you for your comments.

The Nature Shop has been such a find!

It has things that I haven't been able to find anywhere else in Australia!

I was impressed by how promptly I received answers to the many questions I had prior to my purchase, and this ensured I bought just the right product.

To top all that off I had my goods within days of ordering!

I am looking forward to dealing with the Nature Shop again!

    Hi Matthew

Just to give you some feedback on our trial, I am currently using Kigelia as part of a complex herbal skin repair serum. The results we are getting so far are promising but cannot be isolated to Kigelia alone.

However, initially I tested the Kigelia by itself at 15% (emulsified in organic oil) on two chronic skin cases with promising results.

The first person is a male, 48 years of age, who has had chronic psoriasis for over 15 years. His situation is compounded by an illness that requires intense medication to control, and consequent liver damage means that the customary approach of prescribing steroid based medications and creams cannot be given to him. Nothing else he had tried had worked to alleviate the psoriasis, which covered his arms, legs and head in thick crusts, especially around his forehead and behind his ears. He applied the Kigelia twice a day for a month. I saw him last Sunday and the crusts are entirely gone. The lesion areas are still light pink but there is no bleeding and no itching.

The second person, a female aged 53, has suffered with rosacea for approximately twenty five years. As soon as she began applying the Kigelia to her face she noticed a reduction in the redness, swelling and soreness of her skin, which to her was remarkable considering external stressors that she was experiencing at the time. Usually stress triggers her condition to the point where she requires medication, which she was able to avoid.

Both of these people used no other skin medication, dietary changes, or supplementation during the time they tested the Kigelia. Why I mention this is that the approach we use at the clinic is holistic. We usually concentrate on metabolic dysfunction, biochemistry imbalances, nutrition and stressors in addressing health issues. With both of these cases however, no other interventions were instigated apart from the Kigelia at 15% emulsified in organic coconut oil.

    All the best

Just had my first introduction to the site and your product range. The range looks exciting and it is certainly easy to get around the site and to get some more information.

I look forward to my first package arriving.

    Cheers

I was looking at your web site for a few things that we could not find elsewhere and I noted that your henna is from an area known for its "Body Art Quality Henna". I was wondering if your henna is "Body Art Quality" or standard hair dye quality.

If it is only standard hair dye quality you might want to consider carrying "Body Art Quality Henna", as the results are far more striking than those that can be obtained using standard hair dye quality henna.

Another reason that I ask is that I am very interested in natural/organic products. I am becoming more and more interested in developing various lines of products including a line of truly natural (preferably organic) hair dye products, because most of the "supposedly natural" hair dyes that are available right now are far from natural (just look at the ingredients). Unfortunately "natural" has no legally binding meaning at this time.

My wife is an expert in fibres and natural dying and has a good knowledge of herbalism as well. She spins, weaves, dyes, sews, etc - from fibre to clothing. I expect that between the two of us, and with the information and products that are now available, that we could come up with a very good line of pre-packaged natural hair dyes with very good results, which would pose no threat to the environment (including the person using the product). It is quite possible, using only non-toxic ingredients, to get all of the standard variations in hair colour, as well as hair colours as unusual as fuschia.

Thank you for your time, and congrats on your business ethics and your web site.

    Dear Ken,

    Thank you for your comment.

The Henna we obtain comes from Rajasthan in India. As far as I am aware there is at least in the nature of the plant/herb or the processing only one type of henna. If its subsequently modified/processed to suit a particular type of stain then I am not aware of it in detail. Henna types such as brown, black etc. have additives of one form or the other ...brown henna for example does not grow in nature and we have shied away from offering it.

We are in the process of offering a range of certified organic herbs in addition to the certified organic spice range (offered around June middle) which will include henna and a couple of other herbs. Organics is where we will be aligning ourselves and if its successful then ingredients such as inorganic henna will be dropped gradually.

Indigo extract was used as a blue dye in clothing before the advent of artificial dyes ...your wife might be able to throw more light on it. We offfer it as a natural dye for soaps while indigo powder is simlar to henna and used as a dye for black hair.

Pls. feel free to get in touch with me any time.

    Thanks again for the comment.

    Hello,
I ordered some henna last Sunday, and it arrived on Thursday. Thanks :)

I've been using henna for over 15 years now and in recent years it has been difficult to obtain good quality henna in Townsville. The henna from your shop has produced a great vibrant red that I haven't had for years. Thanks again!

The website is a little bit of work to get around. Your search engine for henna brings up the description page for the product, but it doesn't have a direct link to purchase the product. Maybe you could add it sometime?

    thanks for the great henna!

    Hello,

Just adding my compliments about your certified organic henna and indigo, which is the best I've used. Gives my grey hair a beautiful colour, and improves the condition of my hair generally. Excellent products which I recommend heartily. Very glad to have found your site (which I did by googling)!

    Thank you,

    Sue
